This is probably a stupid question, but any chance we'll see more of the pindot chambray fabric from a couple years ago? My chambray shrank way more than I expected when I first washed it so I eventually had to sell it. It was an awesome shirt though.

Love the bluecast chambray offerings from a couple seasons ago. Would be great to see some new variations--though the EPLA speckle chambray sounds great, too.

Picked up the herringbone grey Walts a few months ago and love them.

How do the chessboard tweeds compare to the charcoal Birdseye?

I have both and took some quick shots for you to compare. Pics hidden so as not to lengthen the thread. I'm glad I made space for both in my closet. The Charcoal Birdseye is a dress trouser with a finer-scale pattern that basically reads as a textured nearly solid grey from a few feet away. The Chessboard Tweeds are much more obviously patterned, and the fabric is a bit more casual -- which still works with an SC and tie, though. They're both fantastic trousers.





If this helps: I don't think about pattern coordination with the birdseye, but I do think about it with the chessboards.

Interesting. I had thought the chessboard would be darker than the birdseye, but they seem to be pretty similar in value from your pics. And the pattern note is interesting as well. They're a similar scale, but I can see how the greater contrast in pattern on the chessboard would call itself out more.

Think I'm leaning toward the subtlety of the birdseye … Really helpful pics - Thanks!

I also have both (and like both!) - if I could only pick one, it'd be the birdseye. The fabric is really nice and super versatile. The chessboard definitely feels more casual/rustic and the contrast makes it feel more "patterned" - there's also a tiny bit of brown in there, so it does go really nice with brown/olive tones up top.

Maybe an odd question:

I really like the Doyle, but it wears slightly too casual for my purposes -- I wish its lines were a little bit straighter/harder, if that makes sense. What if I had it dry cleaned and starched? Is that a terrible idea?

As you are building out the MTO trouser program, would it be difficult to add shorts as an option? I would love to have some duck canvas/sanded canvas/rip stop fabric shorts for the spring/summer. A customizable inseam on them would be awesome as well.
