And what if you want your Indigo Sashiko to fade like a MFer? What do you do then? I don't wanna put pumice stones into my dryer if I don't have to.

Question for all the denim heads here, and asking here since all my good denim is Epaulet. Worth it to get the laundry soap that is made for denim specifically? Or just dark Woolite? Want to keep mine looking good long as possible. Have a pair of the Ring-Ring, and some of the navy overdye, and maybe some regular denim. What have you guys found is best to use? I've been using the Woolite Dark but it's time to replace it.
Woolite dark is fine. If you soak in tub, inside out, then gently squeeze excess water and hang dry you’ll be fine. The agitation of a washing machine has the potential to cause some uneven fading.
I’ve used Woolite, Mr Black denim wash, The Laundress denim wash and regular old detergent and honestly haven’t ever noticed a difference. However, I believe the denim-specific detergents are less harsh and in the long run the way to go. Don’t use Tide, ever, on anything.
What’s wrong with Tide? I like it. I am currently using some organic stuff that BBBY sells, but Tide has been my go to otherwise.Woolite dark is fine. I’ve only heard Tide recommended if you’re two out of the three.Unless you're regularly dealing with bloody, muddy or grease-stained clothes (Farmer? Street Fighter? Serial Killer?) you really don't need the harsh chemicals in Tide.
