I could really need some help here: https://www.styleforum.net/threads/...d-alteration-suggestions.265924/post-12091997

Can this be tailored to give more room/freedom of movement? I absolutely love it, but it is tight. If I could find a similar model in SZ50, I'm sure it would need serious alterations in sizing and even then I am unsure if the fit would get much better.

This is a Tipo - are the Tenero even slimmer fitting?

Take it to a decent tailor and you will know. For starters see how much extra fabric there is at the center seam and the two seams running beneath each armpit. It may be as simple as letting out an inch or two total. FWIW I am pretty a std size 40/50 and have had jackets tailerd from 38/48 to fit me. If the sleeve is too high against your armpit that may be a problem...

As someone who has done a lot of surgeries on pretty much single Eidos model jacket, I think the answer is maybe, but probably, honestly not.
Unless you want to spend a lot of money, or are not afraid to diy.
If it's unlined, then it's probably tough because the seams are flat felled (or maybe french seamed), which means there's really no allowance unless you change the seam style, which involves literally taking the jacket completely apart.
That being said, that's exactly what I did on my 38L Ciro sample, which is now wearable for my 42L self.

Also yes, Tenero is about 1cm slimmer iirc. In practice it's all over the place though.

Interesting, thank you. It is only quite minor alterations that need to be done, I would think. It's not at all an entire size in difference and if I went a size up I would probably face issues with sleeves and collar gap. It's a Tipo, so fully lined.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
