Been looking to get my first pair of EG Galway in 82 Last.

I’m a 11UK across all of my Crockett & Jones boots, and am looking for a 11.5UK/12US in the Galway. Been looking online but can’t seem to find any Galway in 11.5UK in the 82 last anywhere. I checked EG, The Hand, and Drakes but no luck.

Do any of you guys know of another stockist that may carry the Galway in 11.5UK on the 82?

Thanks!
There are two other stockists that I know of : Fran’s Boone Store and Borghini Classic - both have online presence but I don’t know off hand if they stock the 82 last Galway.

Have probably bought 10 pairs of EG off Steve. He is the best e-retailer for British shoes here in the US.

Thanks, just placed my order!

Hopefully the wait isn’t too long, website states it’s a Stock Service item with 2-3 week wait.

Really excited for my 1st pair of Edward Green!

Any online shop/retailer in the UK who might do a similar EG collection and variety?
Your best bet in the UK is Edward Green's Jermyn St shop.

I haven't come across many retailers that carry EG, let alone models that EG themselves don't stock. Maybe Mr Porter but it's slim pickings, Drake's also comes to mind but they only have a handful of models.

Thanks. In this regard, it seems gentlemens footwear is quite unique in that they carry their own EG variations

Hello, I bought online a pair of Piccadilly in 12E. I have no EG shop in less than 550km, so hard to pay a visit.
The fit in length and width is perfect out of the box, but the tongue is pressing my arch a bit too much. It is not painful, but unpleasant.
My 2 previous pairs of loafers from C&J and Grenson did have 0 arch pressure from the beginning.
I wonder if the tongue pressure will soften enough with wear to go from unpleasant to perfectly fine for 10 hours of wear at work.

It should, some people find the 184's instep to be slightly low.

I don't think it will soften, at least in my experience. The 184 last has a fairly low instep and that penny loafer strap creates a second leather layer that just won't give up easily. Some days might be better, but sometimes you might suffer a lot, it all depends on how swollen your feet are.

Thank you for the direct feedback on the 184. As I have a delicate arch, I do not see a bright future for this pair in my rotation. I shall look for loafer with a tongue going slightly higher.

Too bad because the design and the leather are just outstanding (as expected with EG).

Edit: I wore them for about an hour, the incomfort became a pain. I was quite happy to remove them. They are going back :(

For what it’s worth, I have the exact same pair of shoes, and mine did give around the instep where the penny strap is, noticeably so and I had to put some tongue pads even.

Obviously only you can judge how they fit you but London Grain is one of the more supple and well-conforming leathers.

If it’s borderline, I would personally keep them.

The London grain looks superb. Seems quite supple and has a nice shine/buff to it. Havent experienced wearing it yet. Would you say its quite durable and maintains adequate shape/firmness if on a galway ?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
