I find Edward Green's shoe offerings so convincing that I find it hard to pursue other manufacturers. Between the Chelsea, Galway, Dover, Piccadilly, Belgravia and Newmarket, the basic forms are so thoroughly covered and to such a high level that it's hard not to feel satiated with just that.

It's the same for me. Except Belgravia, I have all the mentioned models and I don't feel the need to buy more or from other manufacturers.

You have all the basics covered there by EG. The headliners might be the Dover and Galway, but the Piccadilly, arguably, is the best dress Penny available, while the Belgravia being the best dress tasseled loafer on the market.

The Chelsea, to me, is the best looking dress Oxford on the market. That captoe in either black or DOAK takes the cake. It might be understated compared to G&Gs offering because it lacks the flair, but more than makes up for it in elegance. It doesn't look as dated (maybe simple might be more appropriate) like Lobb's City. Certainly has to be more refined than CJ's Audley. Cleverley's Bodie (which looks good in person) or the Kingsman are darn nice, but the Chelsea comes off better proportioned. In a RTW captoe, the Chelsea is the best there is, again in imo.

Speaking of DOAK coloring, is there a better color? I mean there are more shades of DOAK available than anything E.L. James can conjure up with Grey.

Im wondering if I should reach out to EG for a replacement.

This is my first pair, DOAK Belgravia. I had an issue with the leather after about 10 days in my work rotation. Spots appeared that wouldn’t go away and it caused discoloration staining.

EG customer service asked me to ship them back, I had to pay $300usd, for them to look at them.

They assured me they fixed the issue but it seems like they just added slightly darker dye to them. The left upper discoloration stain has re-appeared unfortunately.

Did the spots appear out of nowhere?

The discolored mark just appeared out of nowhere...?
They charged you 300 USD to look at them? That's a bit of a stretch.

Somebody here also noted that the GC by EG shoes are made to a lower spec than EG's own offerings. I don't know how they got that information, but it makes sense price wise.
I don't actually own a pair from them (GC/AC), so I couldn't compare them. They are cheaper for a reason, so I'd assume inferior leather and perhaps plastic heel stiffeners are the culprit.

If that mark has appeared from nowhere and you can’t think of doing anything to cause it like a spill, then I would send the photos to EG and ask for a replacement pair. You will probably need to pay shipping cost to send your pair back but you should need to pay the repair cost you did IMO

Yes. At first I thought I spilled something on them because they looked like dark moisture spots but discoloration appeared around them. Attached are the initial photos I sent to them.

I didn’t use any product on them, I brushed before and after each wear, and gave them 24 hours in between wears.

Non of these spot are an issue anymore except the big one.
