Probably nothing, just brush after use. I think that's the whole purpose of that material, to get beat up 🤣

Looking for advice from the experts as I am thinking about increasing the level of failure in downsizing by dipping my toes in the EG pond again and I really like these Galways. I'm a shell guy and the suede give these just enough pop to get noticed. The color, at least to my eye, would seem to pair well with just about any color of slacks, making these a go-to for anything in my closet outside of denim (which would be the point). And the last looks sleek enough to pair well with business casual. My first question I guess is just general thoughts on the above.

Second question is the always annoying one on size. I'm a 9D TTS/Brannock, an 8.5D on Alden Barrie. I've got two pair of EG's, Dovers sized 8.5/9 on the E 606 (or just 606??) last and a pair of Shearling Galways also sized 8.5/9 on the E64 (or again, just 64??) last. Both fit fine though the Dovers we're a little tight initially. I have no experience with the 82 last. Per the EG website, the have an 8.5UK available and I think these would fit, with the operative word being think. They do not have an 8UK available.

Lastly, I like the idea of the Galway with the shell/suede mix and am open to other makes that anyone may be aware of, especially something that a vendor might be running a sale on. I'd also be interested in any MTO's with similar features that may be floating around.

As always, any insights/thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I love them--just not in the market at the moment to drop 2k+ on boots but they are only future list for sure :)

EG sizing is unique but if you say the 8.5 in the 606 last works (but started a little snug) you definitely can't size down for the 82 last. I'd order the 8.5 if I were you and see how it goes as they do have free returns. If you plan on wearing thick socks with the boots (which I assume you never wore with the dovers) then you may need to try a half size up (9uk) but that will throw more things off.

The letters for the lasts are just the width-- the E606/606E is just the e-width version of the 606 last. The shoe size inside is UK Size|US Size|Width|Last so e.g. 10|10.5E606 is a UK10 shoe in E width on the 606 last.

I'd agree with your use case here. I have these and can't picture wearing them outside of business casual (broad definition but not denim)

Where were your 606's tight? I'd probably stick with 8.5 on the 82 last, but I size consistent across all EG lasts

Thanks. Definitely appreciate the advice and it kind of confirms what I was thinking. Certainly never thought I'd dropping 2K on footwear but if I go in this direction, I've got a few rare Alden's I'd likely move to somewhat offset the cost. I'm really trying to get to a less is more rotation.

Oh man, this is the last thing I needed to see. Actual pic's ITW that look even better than they do on the EG site. Dang @jischwar, just so much goodness in these pic's. Always appreciate the advice my-man, thanks!

New to this forum.
Any body have a MTO Ambleside?
the EG trunk show will be in Chicago in May. I am torn between the Ambleside and the borrowdale both in the 72 last.

Ambleside is cooler, badasserer and of more characterissness. It becomes you as the years tick by. It consoles your failures and encourages your dreams.
