I have a cotton dressing gown I throw on if I have unexpected visitors at unusual time. That's about all the use it gets.

Nevertheless, I do yearn for one of those cool heavy silk gowns like Sulka used to make.

I have a lightweight Paul Smith stripes one and a very heavy weight Boss. Rarely wear them but you never know when you will need one, best to be prepared.

I have two - a cotton flannel from Lands End, and a silk Joseph Abboud. I wear the flannel one most days, and the silk one on days when we have house guests.

I don't own any dressing gowns, but I love the look.
123, the sleeve detail on that robe is graceful.
VG, that first example to the left, is elegant! What a regal color. When I wore ties more often I used shades similar to that, with gray. What would you call that shade? Rosewood?

Simpleton that I am, I'd probably call it maroon.

Do you like it? I was thinking of getting one.

Charles Boyer wears some super dapper duds, in GASLIGHT. See this film, if you haven't. Tense, psychological thriller. Able performances and lots of style.
Boyer is another star who affected a skillful way with clothes.

I like it but wish it had a lining. It's a bit itchy unless I'm wearing long sleeves and pants.

Excellent picture from a superb film!

I really like the look of old house coats as they were called. Take a look at the film Kind Hearts and Coronets, when the main character has risen to the status of Duke and he wears a beautiful (obviously bespoke) SBPL silk housecoat. Of course a good cravat is absolutely de rigeur with it.
