Do any of you own a pinball machine?

Hey Guys!

I have a rather odd hobby of collecting/repairing/playing pinball machines. I mostly collect machines from the mid 90's but dabble in everything. I was wondering if any of you share the same hobby as me or if you have a machine (or know of one) that might be for sale. I am always looking to rescue machines that are being ignored in the basements across the country!

I work in marketing and once needed to target companies that deal with pinball/arcade machines. As I recall there is actually a specific NCIS or SIC code for them. I remember in the late 90s or so it was announced that the last American pinball machine manufacturer closed, ending an era. That said, I was at Portland Retro Gaming Expo and they had a TON of pinball machines there, including a modern one based on Iron Man that looked really nice with LED lights and what not.

I've always wondered how they keep the back panels(vertical part that has the name of the game and what not) so vibrant after so many years. I've seen some that are from the 70's and the artwork on that backlit plastic still has vivid colors.

It might be nostalgia, but the best pinball game I recall playing was Twister, based on the 90's movie. The gameplay was really good, and best of all, the machine had a fan on it that would blow in your face.

Holy **** yes! I loved that game! It was like a real reproduction of an Uzi on the deck. There was a sequel, too, that was pretty badass and added a second rifle.

No idea, but if I was actually going to buy one I would probably go for an older one with electromechanical counters. The guts of it would be just all relays, and step by step switches, much easier to maintain.
