I'm really interested in the Monk. I might spend some time with the Barbarian. He is, after all, clearly German.

I've been playing the crap out of each Diablo installment ever since the first was originally released. I was just a kid. I can't wait for this and I'm excited. You guys wanna play?

I've watched some gameplay videos on youtube and both the Wizard and Demon Hunter look pretty fun to play. (DH's rapid fire especially).

I've never done a casting type character before so I will probably try the Wizard out.

Does anybody know how the difficulty levels work? It seems like you start off at Normal and then replay with the same character at the higher levels.

yeah, the difficulty goes normal-nightmare-hell-inferno. from what the devs made it sound like, nightmare is going to be "hard," hell will be really hard and involve regular dying, and inferno will be brutal and only really be viable in a team with endgame gear. i really hope they keep the difficulty high because outside of a few dungeons on hell difficulty in D2, the game was very easy if you had decent gear.

Anyone know any good resources on how to build our character / what to be aiming for (specifically for Wizard or more generally)? Or is everybody just going to roll with it?

I remember when I went into a supposedly private room and got glimpse of some "elite players" discussing builds, particularly for PvP, which was pretty much all I did until I quit.

Ice Sorceress:

Minimize stats dex/str/vit for the minimum amount needed for godly gear (godly as in the best stats/added bonuses with lowest requirements)
Maximize mana

Skill tree:
Max out ice orb, teleport, ice shield, and mana orb

Learn how to teleport and ice orb with ice shield and mana orb on and I was basically unstoppable vs. all other classes. (loved my sorc)
Oh and I happened to be right in the middle of all the duping that occurred so that helped
The sorc essentially had like 2.5K+ HP or more, on top of actual HP bar

Other classes that were fun and godly included duped out Necro and Amazon

Necro:
Maxed out--
1 of the golems (whichever hurts the enemy when attacked?)
the skeleton prison thing
the magic that decreases elemental immunity
the white fireballs

lure with golem+trap with prison+fire away at them lol so fun

Even with stats/duped items Barb (Shield barbs were the best followed by lance)/Paladin remained the weakest. Never liked melee I guess
Never played D2x

D2 was really stacked IMO and quite easy.

Just random thought since drivelsowk brought up build and I thought it was funny coming from him. My cousins and brother use to always yell "PERFECT PERFECT, everything has to be puuuurfect"

Also the best raid class was the Amazon
Spear amazon with thunder spear
/game

i had a ******* bitchin level 95 firewall sorc in like.. 1.02? whenever firewall was incredibly broken. for pvp i had a slow-azon/bow-azon and a fury barb. so fun.

also apparently this runs perfectly on a 1.7ghz macbook air, so i guess i'll be buying it.

I have a 2.0ghz AMD Turion 64 x2 TL-60 processor, 2 gigs of RAM, 1g ATI Radeon X1200 on my laptop (it's 4 years old). Any chance I'll be able to run D3 on this bad boy?
