Custom White's Boots ... Thoughts?

Have you been able to locate the squeak? From the tongue? Sidewalls? Back of the heel? Sole friction inside the boot or boot to ground contact?

It was the leather shank coming loose for me, had to send it back in to be fixed.

Boot to ground contact definitely.

Did they give you new rubber after they fixed the shank?

It was essentially a rebuild of the boot, the uppers were the original but everything else below that was new

Hey Guys,

my new pair of Whites nomad engineers having a bit of a fit issue. wanted to get an opinion from you guys to see how to resolve this. i went through Bakers and do they offer any resolution for fit issues? I was sized by Bakers and recommended to go with 8.5 EE for 55 last and 8.5 E for nomads. my right foot is fitting ok with and feel like i could have a little bit more room in the toe box. no heel slip.
left foot is pretty much crushed from all sides. toe box is squeezing my toes and my instep skin has gone black. can not ware left boot for more than an hour.

any kind of advice is appreciated. i tried putting leather softeners in side the boot, wore thickest socks in break in period. so far i have worn these about 50 hrs.

Mine is 8 1/2 EEEE in left foot … 8EEEE in right foot and my 350 cruisers in 7.5 EEEE are too big for me. The 55 last is narrow as hell and there’s rumors the mp last is even narrower wich is hard to believe but I do believe it. I want to add the 55 last is one of the only last I’m a true EEEE and have to stay that size width or the boots will be too tight. I can get away with grant stones triple E and even Truman’s double E last but not whites I’ve tried a double E and it felt just like you described “crushing my foot on all sides” I’d wear very thin socks tho and re judge the fit. Thick socks while breaking in a boot is just unnecessary pain you’re putting yourself threw, unless you sized wrong and they’re too big… but it seems like your left boot in your words is “crushing” your foot in all sides.. soo why wear thick socks on top of that? I hope you figure out your size… my general rule of thumb for that last is go down 1 full size in length from brannock and stay the same width or even go up in width because it’s notorious for pinching wide footers. I also find it odd bakers suggested sizing your right foot the same size length as your brannock measurement if that’s what happened.

i used the sizes that was given to me by bakers. I actually tried the thick socks and then went back down to the thinnest i could find. but it did not help.

I’ve never ordered from bakers but from whites directly
