Yeah, the shell PTBs I got were certainly not a good deal. But, since they are so difficult to find, I bit the bullet.

I also did not realize who it was selling. I thought it might be RL themselves but I guess not.

RE above, I received them today. My Barrie last size (8D) in the RL CJ Shell Cordovan PTB is slightly narrow, but do fit ok with a thinner dress sock which is fine with me. Ideally though, I prefer my brannock size in these.

Let me know if you think they wont work out, I am a 7.5 barrie and 8D Lindricck and have been looking for an 8D PTB for a while now. Kind of dissapointed I didn't see them for sale. Also, post some pics!

Lexol Conditioner works best when moisturizing my RL/C&J shell. However, for some reason I find Saphir Renovateur works better on my Carmina and Alden shell when needed.

Somewhere in the Shoe Care Thread it was said that Renovateur is a better polisher than conditioner, so that could be why the shell appears "wet." I used Lexol on my Alden cigar Indy boots and the shine came right off; had to use some high shine wax polish from Glen Karen to restore the brilliant shine.

I think he's buying fairly cheap & then re-selling at a significant markup. IIRC the Cardigan I mentioned was a close out at about $330 or so that is now being sold at $499. (I recall thinking that it was odd that they were listed on Barney's website without any being available in any sizes)

Some of those made it to 60% in store. Likely called around various Barneys or lives near a store and bought the stock around the country at both the $330 and $259 (that number may be slightly off) mark.
