Just received a nice Hans Olsen easy chair (from around 1960).
(this is the actual chair but not in our house! In fact, we are about to start having our new house built, but that's a story for another thread sometime...)
It's a very nice chair but that seems a little extreme.

We were at the showroom a couple days ago and the lady priced it out around $8K. That was for a smaller version, but still marble top. I'm leaning toward the Cassina.

Anyone have experience with the Flos IC S1 pendant lamp?

Am thinking of getting 2 for a central hallway in an otherwise quite traditional Victorian worker's cottage.

The lamp in question is the smaller one, 20cm diameter.

We have one of the big Flos Jasper Morrison lollipop floor lamps.

I can't figure out why we paid so much for it instead of buying something similar from Ikea. It does, however, work fine.

^^ For some reason I entertain this idea of you rattling around a great old NYC house. That shot fit the bill.

Not finished, or even close to finished, but this is petty close to how it will look when finished.

Wow. Your mom has a pretty serious jewelry collection!

Is it my imagination or is the top not level in that photo?

Indeed, I went with this plan-file type system for that purpose. What is worse than having every thing dumped into a jewelry box and you can't see what you have. Honestly I would have gambled with making even more drawers but thinner drawers but I didn't know how thin to go before they became impractical.

I'm sort of fanatical about laying out everything nicely, but I dont own a ton of stuff. For those with more stuff, and who might be less fanatical, a little extra room is probably a nice plus. My wife is looking at this box with envy now that it is nearly complete and making her little rosewood box look like nothing…..so I'm sure it won't be long before I'm making another one of these. Unfortunately I have about 400 hours into this box and easily 100 more to go, so it will be a while before a second one is completed.

The top is level, my floor dips in that area. I know because It's driven me to check the box like 10 times. It's also square to 1/32".
