Great look there. Clean and classic.

Regarding the suit, is that a glen plaid?

I wore something similar yesterday and was happy with the way everything blended; the tie was a navy wool challis with ecru spots from Drakes current range, and its muted texture seemed to blend well with the glen plaid pattern of my suit.

However, whenever I try to pair this same suit with a navy grenadine or shantung silk tie, something just seems off. Specifically, it seems as though the textures are clashing and the result is a drab, overall look.

What do you think?

I've found the blue and red overcheck to be a bit limiting when choosing accessories. I do like it with these shoes, though!

Agreed. gdl - is that standard Oxford shirt fabric? Looks almost like it has some silk or sheen to it smoothing it out.

David - it's a standard oxford (maybe royal, I don't know). I think the strong light is making it look shinier on the picture
