Yeah, it reminded me of the Linux WM called Enlightenment. I use the boring stock gnome stuff. Only thing I modify these days is the terminal to be black and green.

Hah same here. Black background terminal is a must. I also replaced the top Gnome panel with Docky and really like it.

Just curious tie, do you intend to upgrade when Gnome 3.0 comes out, or will you be one of the many who ditch it for KDE or xfce? Gnome 3.0 doesn't look very impressive at all now, at least from the screenshots I've seen.
