Hello guys!

I accidentally thrifted a pair of Church's Genuine Elephant loafers and wondered if anyone knows anything about this pair. I've googled a fair bit and can't seem to find out anything about them. I did find another pair of elephant shoes from Church's on some japanese site but they were Derbys. It says "Paris" on the insole but I've forgot which year they added that. It also appears to be the 9th out of 79 pairs made. By the looks of them I'd guess the 60s or 70s but I have honestly no idea.

Would be interesting to see if anyone knows something about them or have some idea of a price range. I'm also fairly uncertain if I'm even allowed to sell these since they're made of elephant. I'll attach some pics below :)

Back in the day, Church's offered a selection of exotic leathers (I remember seeing 'Fighting Seal' once). I would guess, your shoes were made in the 1950s/60s. You might want to contact Church's, asking for further information (no idea if they will answer),

Whether or not you can sell them, I wouldn't know. The shoes are certainly not more than hundred years old to fulfil the status of 'antique'.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
