After enjoying the last 130 with the Mocha Elliott II R and the Black Richmond II R very much, I was curious about the sleeker 125. Now I know.

This Elliott R in Almond Grain arrived yesterday:

Since they share a pretty similar design and the grain leather, I had high hopes that the colour would be sufficiently different from my Tan Scotch Grain Coniston and I superlike the yellow-ochre hue.

Here it is next to an so far untreated TSG Coniston:

And here next to my other pair, for which I had used Saphir Médaille d'Or 'Creme 1925' Nr. 03 / Light Brown:

I will not keep this lovely boot. It is not that tight, that it hurts, but on my bigger foot it sits so close, that I am constantly aware of it and that's not a good thing. There is an always present feeling of pressure, which is not comfortable.

But hey, I knew it could turn it this way and now I can forget about other Cheaneys on the 125.

That's a pity. A lovely colour.

Edit: That cream seems the right choice for maintain the original colour. The pigment has faded away a little, but the leather still looks great.

Oh, yeah, it really is a great hue, very stylish. The sleek last looks also ... hot. 😃

I really wanted to make it work, but I can't get easement even with socks of normal thickness (which were already to thin for the current winter temperatures).
For my feet it is sleeker than the 130 to a strong degree, I want to say, it's not a bit like with a different width, I could choose from. It's more than that. But now I know, I'm easy. 🍻

Anyone here has the Bowland boot? If I wear Alden Barrie last in 7E, and Viberg 7E, what size should I get?

yes, Bowland in Brown Walnut Grain. I had already the Ingleborough in Mahogany Grain, otherwise I would have opted for this leather. Can't comment on size 7, because I wear 9. Is true to size, but the toebox is quite short, so you should consider half a size up if you like to wear thick socks and an insole during bad weather season. Great boot, very sturdy but comfortable, very well made.

it doesn't loook as chunky as you might think with its military heritage, it goes well with casual trousers in uncomfortable weather

That's a pitty indeed, we could have been boot twins (I also own the almond version).

Did you receive them without the tassels by the way? I have removed them too, got too many odd looks at work and they were a hassle to lace

Since I don't own any 130 lasted shoes or boots: What is the main difference between the 125 and 130 last according to you? Is it just the width at the toe box?

Yes. I knew I wouldn't want to wear them, but I like complete packages so I asked the seller and he had them for me.

Since I don't own any 130 lasted shoes or boots: What is the main difference between the 125 and 130 last according to you? Is it just the width at the toe box?

As you know from the diagrams at Cheaney's last guide the overall shape is pretty similar, just clearly sleeker on the 125.
From the fit on my left (smaller) foot), which wasn't choked by the tightness, I would say length is the same and also the instep, just that it's a little less generous due to less width.
On my right foot I instantly noticed that I don't slip as easily in the boot and I think it is the volume of my foot that pulls the leather towards the instep, producing too much tension.
So I had a constant pressure on the top of my foot along the first 2 thirds at and around the lacing area and around the ball girth I had no wiggle room as well.

As you are interested in the 130, I would deduct from the situation with my left foot and from my impression looking at your pictures of the Burgundy Elliott, which look not tight on your feet ... opposed to that you could sense over here, that my right foot secretly wants to burst the boot 😉 ...
I would say that if you have ever so little still a bit of wiggle room in the 125, the 130 should not be excessively wider just like it is no excessively tighter on my left foot.
Definitely not as wide as the CS 234 or the Rannoch to give examples you know.

For me the 130 wears very much like the C&J 325.
