T was there since the beginning. It was the option that comes with power steering where as the MT does not have in 1991. Still I was able to top the speed at 270 km/hr. Twice. It was very stable up to 240 km/hr. After that it was all down to tire grip and a lot of concentration. Twice is enough for me. Beyond 240 km/hr I left Mitsubishi Evo and Subaru STi behind. That was 10 years ago. Now I drive like an old lady. :D

Saw an RS7 and M4 parked outside my apartment.

Sexy as ****.

Both driven by AZNs. Rich ass AZN college kids in Boston drive practically all the luxury peformance cars here. Probably Chinese. Yes jelly.

I'd never let my (future) kids just get a car or have anything handed to them. My parents made me pay for a rusted out 1998 and Corolla on the insurance on it when I was 16. I was 31 a couple of months when I picked up the P85D ago, I was thinking mom and dad actually instilled values, instead of spoiling me,

Same here. My parents certainly taught me well about managing my finances and also made me appreciate the value of a dollar, but I was kiiinda spoiled growing up, not gonna lie -- mainly by my mom.

But when it comes to these Chinese kids, I think a lot of it has to do with the notion that many wealthy Chinese cannot spend ostentatiously in China, else they might get targeted for corruption charges. I knew a Chinese kid a while back in college whose parents were loaded (father worked for the Gubment) but lived modestly back home. One way they "spent" their money was by letting their son buy a nice fancy car in college. It was "just" an E92 335i, but they let him mod the **** out of it. He probably dropped more than the car's actual value in mods. I remember him being jelly of the other rich(er) Chinese kids driving around in Lambos and Ferraris, lulz.

Anyway, I think a lot of Chinese parents do this for their kids -- funnel their money into the US and let them live with flash in the US, esp. if their kid is a son and only child. This is only going to become much more prevalent as all the wealthy Chinese find ways of parking their money outside of mainland China. Should be interesting to see how all this unfolds in the next couple of decades.

When I was 16 my mother's POS died. She was unemployed (for the entire time I've known her I might add) so no way to buy another car. I had been working ****** off and told her I would buy a car, we can put it in her name, and me as secondary driver as I only really wanted it Friday nights and the weekend. Insurance back then for a teenage boy was like 3k a year (80s so that was serious, serious cash) and I could easily buy a car but not insurance. I bought the family a car, put it in her name, and she promptly told me I could not have it Friday nights and she would phone the police and tell them I had stolen HER car if I went and took it against her wishes.

My mother managed to instill certain values in me too.

Yeah, growing up where and how I did greatly curtailed my future prospects and it took me until I was nearly 30 to figure some things about life out. Sadly, no, I have very few memories of my mother exhibiting good parenting. I will say she did stop hitting me the day she broke a wooden paddle while hitting me. I was about 13 and laughed at her when it broke. I think it was more realization I was getting big enough to hit back that made her stop than anything else.

I don't think it matters if you have 15 bucks in your pocket or 15 million. Just put your head down and work hard - not that you guys obviously don't know thatt.

Visible Pick Stitching on Lapels and Pockets

  • It’s a mark of quality and craftsmanship

  • I like it when it’s subtle

  • I don’t like visible stitching

  • Doesn’t matter to me
