Unfortunately it wasn't opened as a case, it was initiated as a return, so there was no way for me to escalate it. What else is unfortunate is that if he opened a case, I would have won and he wouldn't have been able to leave feedback. But now, since I did things the appropriate eBay way, I have neutral feedback and a defect.going forward, nothing you can do except contact the buyer and try and arrange a revision.
going backward, escalate the request to a claim to close out in your favor and they cannot leave feedback.
