New to me. A shell pair of Alden in 9E on Barrie last. I think 8eee, 8.5E or even 9D would provide a more snug fit. Heels are secure but toes are swimming. Thicker socks will work.

These came to me with very little wear. Managed to get these into Canada before 25% tariff is imposed. The price was phenomenal ($410 USD) compared to the brand new price.

Hello

Those Sanders Craig look great. Please can you comment the process, I will clean some shoes this weekend.

Cheers
Hi Juan

I wipe them down with a warm damp cloth. Let them dry. Then apply the dubbin wax evenly all over (but making sure you dont over apply wax. Use in small quantities and work your way all over the boot). I use a toothbrush to dab the wax and then rub it into the leather using circular motions). Once evenly applied, let them sit out for a few hours before you box them away. No need to brush or buff.

This is my way and not necessarily the professional or proper way (if there is one).

I use the everest dubbin. Its a good product.

Hello DorianGreen,

the more modern lasts of Heinrich-Dinkelacker for men with narrow- to medium-width feet are the following:

- Italien-inspired "Milano" last with an almond toe and narrow-to-medium width (width F/G (German) D/E (USA) / D/E (UK)
- comparable to the sleek 360 last of Crockett & Jones

- English-inspired "Luzern" last with a classic round to in medium width (width G (German) / E (USA) / E (UK))
- comparable to the 379/341 lasts of Crockett & Jones

- soft "Budapester" last "Zürich" with a classic round to in medium width (width G (German) / E (USA) / E (UK))

I post photos of the three medium-width lasts side-by-side.

All other lasts, starting with the "Genf" are rounder lasts for wider feet, up to the "Janosh K" for very broad feet in the width K (German) / EEEE (USA) / 4E (UK).

Best regards

Pascal
Hello everybody,

here are pictures of the narrow-to-normal G width lasts of Heinrich-Dinkelacker (from left to right):

- the adelaide derby in black is the Italien-inspired "Milano" last with an almond toe
- the full-brogue blackbrown boot with lighbrown stitching on the English "Luzern" last with a round toe
- the full-brogue derby in black on the soft budapester last "Zürich" with a round toe and spaceous toe box

I do not think that the lasts are overly burly or bulbous, but rather normal. The "Zürich" last as soft budapester last for medium-width feet is comparable to the round lasts of Carmina "Oscar" (?) or Crockett & Jones 378 for robust derbies. The "Luzern" last is very similar to the "very English" round lasts 341 or 379 of Crockett & Jones. The slimer almond-toe last "Milano" is very similar to the 360 last of Crockett & Jones, because I really like both lasts for my slimmer medium-width feet.

Enjoy your weekend and best regards

Pascal

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
