Thanks. I had only seen it discussed from that perspective, but I figured there still had to be some functional reason behind it. Interesting. Is it a recent thing?
It’s usually model specific but can be specified on mto which is why I think you’re seeing it discussed on the other thread more.

Still can't get around to wear boots in late spring thru summer into early fall. My boots go in hibernation. But like cowboys in Texas over the centuries still wear them year around. So maybe I need to change my ways.

It is always boot season. You never remove your boots, except to change boots, and sleep. This is The Way.

It’s supposed to be in the high 90’s today I don’t blame ya. I need me a pair of those shoes built like boots. Gotta free the ankles in times like these!

Gentlemen, could someone please share pics of boots on dark brown Dainites? Any range of Dainites. Google is not really my friend here.
A number of Allen Edmonds suede Strandmoks come on brown Danite but it may not be dark brown. I have one I'll see if I can take a picture of the sole. These are the ones I have and there is an outdoor shot.

Thanks! Yes, that has to be brown rather than dark brown. (I like the combination with a lighter brown welt.) This is very helpful.

I somewhat foolishly realized that I have a number of boots with dark brown Dainites... I wasn't really aware, because they have looked black to me. Of course, in comparison to black soles there is a difference. But as your picture shows, the brown soles really look brown, which is what I was hoping to get confirmed.
