If original 120cm laces that came with boots are not long enough, then what's the options? Any online retailer for laces you can recommend within the UK ?

These are good

Got these Herring Badmintons by Cheaney from their sale. No idea how they arrived at that name. Has the Red Wing/American Heritage look, but with the great finishing of the Northhampton brands. View attachment 2289743

How do find the fit? I have a pair in their Bronze Rub Off leather and they fit tighter than my Cheaney Jarrows that are on the same last. I had to have them stretched a bit to fit more comfortable.

My latest find after an unusually long dry spell: A Crockett & Jones "Harry" which is an Islay built on the 228 last rather than the 365 and also in an F width rather than an E. I've found over the last ten years that I can't quite fit into the Coniston and standard Islays as I used to as my foot has gotten wider. These are made with tan scotch grain leather rather than the typical dark brown. They were a special make up for Rogerson's in the UK and a good deal too. I got mine shipped for around US$530. The fit is definitely more generous across the forefoot (good for me) but also overall, which is less than ideal but still acceptable. I've had these on my mind since 2020 but Rogerson's wasn't shipping overseas during the pandemic...

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
