Canali - can be a little boxy but the fabrics (all Loro Piana) and construction are generally very good; minor alterations reduce the boxiness. I have a number of excellent Canali suits, jackets, trousers, shirts and knits - nearly all of them purchased during their twice-yearly sales - and wear them all the time. Maybe they just suit my frame.

Too late I know, but the best burgers I've had in the Sydney conservative business dress are from Down-n-Out Burger in the pub on the corner of Liverpool and George. Absolutely top-class, and the bar has Young Henry's on tap.

Burger Project are decent but inconsistent.

Mary's on Castlereagh make abysmally bad burgers. Avoid, with extreme prejudice.
Thanks, will consider them for next time. Burger Project isn't bad, I think last time I got caught in the lunch rush and it looked like it was slapped together without any care. Made it to Bar Luca and wasn't impressed at all, it was a Wednesday night though, which I understand can be a rowdy one?

Speaking of Canali, I've got a Kei 'travel' sports jacket, and while it's not boxy, I don't really like the shoulder lines of it on me as it's slightly too roomy for me. Think I might unload it.

Congratulations by the way!

@Coxsackie congratulations and some remembered words of advice. No dark colours around bubby, when burping have a large towel over the shoulder. And for some reason babies love Vavaldi, puts them to sleep, if it's not in your repertoire add some ASAP.

Long time between posts for me.

Need some shoe advice. I need a good sturdy pair of business shoes that don't look like they are made for a construction site!. I walk 10-15,000 steps a day so I'm ruining some of my nice shoes with scuffs and grazes.

They don't need to be fancy but would prefer if they could cop a beating without looking too much like safety shoes!

If all else fails I will get some rm Williams...

Gaziano & Girling Thorpes.

I have had a bit of experience fitting Canali to others. To back up what Coxy said; I'd say Canali suits a bloke with a stouter solid trunk and frame. Much more so than Coxsackie. I suspect they are cut deliberately for that market. I'm sure they have all sorts of models and cuts but - in the main - they work very well on a solid trunk. And probably older mature blokes. They are well made and have good fabric.

HI all, does anyone know what brands this Masons store has? Don't get to the conservative business dress often and the website doesn't look active.

I had a rather vague/quick look around in there the other day. Mostly 'fashion' brands, but there's a nice little 'menswear' section at the back (just beyond the whisky bar..!). Cucinelli, Isaia and a few other Italians I don't recall just now. Almost everything in store was 50% off too, but that sale may have ended. Friendly staff and a simple elegant, yet masculine interior fit out. Definitely worth a look next time you come in.

Wrong decision IMO, should have been the Rebels. A financial black hole for Australian rugby, no one in Melbourne gives a **** about Rugby and I guess the fact that they are so Rubbish even the Sunwolves topped them counts too.
But on the other hand I can definitely see Billy Meakes or Haylett-petty or even Coleman pulling on a Brumbies jersey.

Decision should have been made months ago. Best bit is Pulver going. Right about Haylett-petty HC.
