Then we both agree. Drinks all around. Have you visited the Rubinacci thread recently? Buttonholes again.

I'll save it for later. But I'll be sure to drop in.

My attention was rapt, though, so I guess I'd agree that that was one heck of a derailment. I guess I was trying to figure out if this was a real conversation or not.

RSS is the screen name of one Mr D Trump. George is essentially a guy with a stick, poking at a bear.

What does the 9/10 mean ... really? You may PM if you don't wish to derail further ... but if you don't give a damn ... just post right here.

I assure you I have real hair. Now back to the A8. I was taking the thread seriously until my sense of style was ... well ... attacked ... albeit in a backhanded compliment sort of way.

Nothing earth shattering, just nine out of ten for the thread derail. It would have been ten out of ten if you and George had started talking about Xenu or something but overall nine is a great effort - congrats.

Thank you. A8 anyone? I'm going to have one replace the all too conspicuous S-Class. Now that I live in small-town USA ... I can't afford to stand out.

Yes, the A8 is a very good car. See post 13 for more info.

I reckon that discussion on the A8 is pointless. You know if you want one. You just know.

If you like the S-Class, then you would never be happy with the understatement of the A8.

If you like the 7 Series then you would never by happy with the handling of the A8.

If you like the Lexus then you have no soul.

Its like comparing a Lambo and a Ferrari; very few people would look at the two and not know which they prefered.

Are you a German fanboy brand whore? My previous 2 cars were Audi A6 & BMW 750. They spent more time in dealer garages than in my own. One time an Audi loaner died on me while mine was being fixed. I had to wait 2 hours for Audi roadside assistance to come to my rescue. The BMW gps nav was so temperamental that I had to buy a TomTom as a backup. Every few weeks I found myself in my car mumbling "oh no, not again". They were beyond embarrassing, I didn't have pride of ownership at all. My trouble-free Lexus gives me a peace of mind and improves my quality of life vastly.

If you can live with a German car....good for you. I couldn't.

Lol. German manufacturers, their PR machines and fanboys know they can't beat Lexus in terms of reliability, residual values, and owner satisfaction so they invent some mumbo jumbo like soul, heritage or whatever to defend their masters. Really pathetic.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
