Yes that shape is acceptable, but to be honest if you paid over $100 for those cole haan's they aren't worth it.
Yeah, i didnt pick them up.

Just curious, why wouldnt they be worth it?

I am trying to get more wingtips, Been looking at some allen edmonds on ebay and such, i was just curious. Have any recommendations?

the construction of a cole haan shoe as well as the quality of the leather really is sub par. For a bargain, go meermin (see the thread here on SF) or for a step up go carmina or crockett & jones.

I recently picked up two suits at an estate sale and have a couple of quick questions...

I have not seen a Brioni Label designed like the one on this suit, marked 100% Wool, Made in Italy. Is anyone familiar with this label, authenticity, age, etc?

Second is from the same lot, it is also marked Made in Italy. I have seen the label before, but what is the brand called?

Suggestions for auction titles?

I completely agree with Claghorn. 0.25 to 0.5 inches is just fine. You want it to show just a little bit. With French cuffs, probably closer to 0.5 inches. As you want to at least partially show the cufflinks, if not the full thing!

No mang... you don't want your cuff links dangling out...that could look ridiculous. You want it to show discreetly in your movements. Agree that 0.25-.5'' sounds good.

No doubt about this; socks go with shoes. They may be the same colour or a toning colour but always be guided by the shoes, not the trousers.

I would disagree with this. So there is some doubt. :D

^^^^ 1000 mile boot, hands down. I would also love to hear what others might think??

AE also makes one worth considering if you want it a tad dressier.

can someone recommend a nice boot like this Cole Haan for the winter? Preferably in a medium brown.

I prefer either the Wolverine 1000 Mile or the Red Wing Iron Ranger. That boot looks dressier, but cheap and flimsy in comparison.

Here's a stupid question. Cotton pants that had a pleat in them once but it's now vague because of washes. How do I get back the pleat?

Does anybody know how Chippewa GQ's fit compared to Iron Rangers? I tried Iron Rangers on, but I might just go for the cheaper Chippewas.
