Now seems like a good time to plug The Pot Book.

I've seen some amazing pottery made by locals at a small gallery in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie (Provence, France).

This seems like a good thread to post these. Some antique prints from Les Miserables I just hung up. Found an old copy on ebay that was literally falling apart (part 2 of 2 only, so no famous Cosette engraving), harvested the set of prints, and had two framed up. Valjean and Cosette at the wedding, and Eponine dying at the barricade. Photo's not that great, and the flash revealed smudges that have since been cleaned off, so excuse that. The matting is also not quite as saturated as it appears here, the colors are a little duller.

My wife would like us to get a family portrait done. I don't want to get one of those lame typical portrait shots, but would rather have something more fun (e.g. Jeff Wall-esque photo) or interesting or even more aggressively intepretational . I haven't really decided which way to go, and being in NYC makes it even harder - a bit spoiled for choice.

So any suggestions on artists out there available for commissions?

The Uniqlo Undercover ads are some of the coolest family portraits around, not that this answers your question.

No idea if she does commissions (I'm guessing no) but you could try to emulate one of her photos if you like the idea. There is also loretta lux if you dig "The Shining" twins vibe.

Was able to pick up some pretty rare Dali wood block prints at an estate auction. The first picture is what I got it for (141$) and the second is what it seems to be be going for on the web (around 1200 - 2000 depending on the frame)

I got 4 of them. "The Sixth Heaven of Jupiter - Paradise 20", "Cerebus - Inferno 6", "Centaur - Inferno 25", and "The Divine Comedy- Inferno 10"

Anybody have any cool information on this series? Ive always been a fan of Dali, for this is the first time I've really paid any attention to his commissions on Dante.

Sounds great on paper ,but try selling these prints. Dali, Miro, Picasso and Chagall are the jokes of the art world when it comes to prints. They are so mass produced and copyrights have been sold and resold to publishers so many times that they are effectively worthless repros, imho.
