Yeah, the Dalton seems to be love/hate around here. For whatever reason, I really like them. I have a burgundy shell pair and used to have another shell pair and chili calf pair, but sold those two since I didn’t have the fit dialed in yet for the 511 last. Someone mentioned to me that the Dalton may be discontinued next year. My other consideration was a chili shell Strand…and seeing that those will likely be available for a while, went with the Dalton instead. Hard to beat the sale + reward coupon pricing.

I could believe that they would discontinue it. It doesn’t seem to be an incredibly popular model.

I will be honest, there is something about it that feels off when looking at stock photos. I think there’s like, too much “dead space” on the vamp, but in person, they looks pretty good.

Is that the “weatherproof” version or have they really screwed up the regular CXL version?

Haven't shined them in a while but I believe I've been using Meltonian London Tan (though recall they went BK a few years back...) and every once in a long while I've used a medium brown on toe cap to get a slight contrast.

Was very tempted to pull the trigger on a style or two for the trunk show. It’s been quite a while since I bought a new pair.

But I decided instead to put some money toward another snare drum or two for my set. Any other drummers here? I’m sure you can relate.

Cambridges have been Bick 4ed and brushed for tomorrow. Higgins Mills did a great job on the lawn today. They will get a nice neatsfoot bath soon.
