I get it about the sole but one literally has a stitch loop falling from the sole. And yeah the upper is gouged and bent. View attachment 1707091

The stitch loop is irrelevant. I have something similar on an MTO shell HM on commando sole that I paid $725 for. It’s not a big deal to me, and this is even less. That stitch will be worn away from just walking on concrete for a couple days. It won’t affect the shoe at all structurally.
