Some questions you may want to consider:
- is the industry in which you want to work in growing?
- can you network your way in? consider alumni, your social skills, willingness to be aggressive about it
- how strong is the mba program's career services? what companies actively recruit from there?
- depending on how high your gmat score and how well you can sell yourself, some schools give scholarships

I'm in my second year now and think pursuing my mba (not top tier) was and still is a great decision.

If you're thinking of getting an MBA to expand your current business, you'd most likely be better off just hiring someone who has an MBA.

that definitely does not make sense if he's currently making ~ $60k. no qualified MBA candidate will work for ~ $60k. and even if they would then he's making no money. the only way you'd get a well qualified MBA to work for $60k/year is if your company was amazing, they believed in it a great deal, and you gave them equity/IP. all unlikely/bad options.

If you are only making $60k/yr now, I don't understand why you think you need to make $250k/yr for it to be worth it. You could probably get six figures post-MBA without too much trouble, and that difference would pay off the degree rather quickly.

I think the general consensus is that an MBA is not worth it purely for education (ie to help you run your business.) You will definitely learn extremely useful things, but it's not worth 100k+opportunity cost until you add in the resume-boosting and networking value.
