Why only 1 XS of each item? Am I wrong in thinking small sizes of cool clothing always sell out fast?

Or maybe I’m just always slow to check for my size...

They usually sell out because they aren't bought deeply. The September delivery is largely a test. It will be interesting to see what sizes work, particularly in the 3 different doors and ecomm.

Oh yes, and now for the question I came here to ask (slipped my mind due to being elated with international shipping): are there any planes for scarves? Would love to have one with the 18east vibe.

We did one for fall. It's a double faced (sherpa on one side, Himalayan tapestry on the other) stole style with a keeper loop that is finished with a hand blanket stitch. It also serves as a removable sherpa collar for the season's Indian shirt jacket.

That is beautiful. Would go great with my classic Gloverall duffel, I think. The himalayan pattern is great, and I'd love to wear it in some small way. Don't think I have what it takes to go all the way with a jacket in that pattern, although I would love to see it on other people.

What’s funny is that I didn’t think I could either. It and the stole were the very last two pieces added to the collection and we actually did the stole first because I thought it was going to be too much pattern to wear as a whole garment. The silhouette is very easy though and is light enough so that you can just throw it on like a flannel shirt over a tee. Finally, it is $175 retail, so it’s not a huge investment. Price was an important thing here. I wanted the whole collection to be made from beautiful, adventurous fabrics but whenever I stepped out like that in the past, the prices were always so high that it became hard to justify the novelty. With 18 East, if you think it looks cool, you should be able to get it, without price being a barrier of entry.

what are the details on that sweater?

The only piece in the collection that we made in Italy. I’m calling it the trekking turtleneck. It’s a gutsy but soft merino shaker knit with a substantial, slightly stretched-out fold-over rib neck and racking-stitched shoulder reinforcements that are placed where your backpack would hit your shoulders.
