Yeah fair philosophy. For context, I for one am located overseas, and have to deal with customs charges, longer shipping/potential return times, so I guess would rather be more sure about sizing in the absence of fit-pics and potential hassle of having to return anything (for both parties), and find this forum invaluable to this end (the 'social experiment' saga of last year aside ). Size charts tell a certain amount of the story for me, but not everything, depending on material, style, etc. But I have learned to embrace the more oversized look over time, and my mistakes have probably primarily been in sizing down.re fit questions that have been populating this sub lately and sorry for being a dickhead you are all very cool:
Just use measurements/sizing advice in the description to make sure it is definitely not too small or comically large and it will either be kinda baggy or baggy. Basically everything is meant to be oversized and loose, so there isn’t going to be a perfect fit and will look good either way. I’ve been a constant buyer for a long time and never had a fit problem with anything.
I know it is kind of the name of the game to overthink how something fits on styleforum, but it is pretty antithetical to the ethos of the brand.
Very curious also, I grew up there and am trying to think of what looks familiar. Perhaps Amdavad ni gufa?@NickPollica whats the name of the site in Ahmedabad that inspired the embroidered isle shirt? i tried looking on google out of curiosity but didnt see anything close.
Glad I remembered. I grew up playing concerts at CEPT and later hanging out at Om cafe. Great spot
Looks great! I got the ripstop pants, and just ordered the jacket to complete the suit, and while the fabric might not be as flowy as the linen, it is by no means stiff. This is giving me some FOMO though. Wish I could have picked up the linen one too.Ok I'm in love with the green linen suit. This will be a great replacement for another suit I wore year round.
Here are some dirty and blurry pictures out of the box.
Size L in pants and jacket.
I can see Antonio's experience with tailoring in action here. He made an unstructured suit look good. There's 2 darts near the bottom of the pants too which fascinate me. Baggy pants can often flare out when the hem is large. The darts contain the hem and flare and keep it from wilding out when walking.
I washed it too and there appears to be no shrinkage!
I'm roughly a 40R-41R in tailoring. Jacket is a bit snugger than expected in the chest and armhole area tbh, but may have been necessary considering the lack of structure.
The fabric is great. It has a soft floppiness that 100% suits the cut. I don't see myself buying the cotton/ripstop variants, it'd be too stiff and have no flow.
Love the expanding waistband. I've a narrow natural waist and broader hips and this feels custom made for me. As I get bloated after multiple meals, the waist doesn't constrict me.
Ok, I'm glad to hear it's not stiff. Now I'm more open to buying that in the future.Looks great! Jesper and ripstop Kells.
