The good thing about seconds is that defects are only cosmetic. The integrity/fit/comfort of the shoe isn't affected. That being said, if you wore them and got them broken in and you still had a lump under your foot, that's something that AE should take care of for you. This kind of thing is...

Is it in the ball area? If it is, what you're probably experiencing is a crown from the cork footbed. Its poured in hot and pressed down. The weird thing is that one guy will feel it and someone else wont. I think it has a lot to do with foot shape, bone structure, and how fleshy someones...

You guys have such similar profile pictures and forum names that start with M and are about the same length... I usually do a double take on who is who. Fantastic boots btw :)

Definitely need pictures. More than likely it's a simple warranty fix, but can't say for sure without seeing them.

Love seeing old Cascades pop up! One of my favorites (I nabbed a 2015 55 inch Vizio M series this time last year for a steal at Costco, been very impressed with it. The new ones have chromecast built in and you can't beat the price/picture quality)

The heel stack is glued and nailed down. You could try some cement in there and try to find a way to apply pressure to that joint for 24 hours or so. More than likely, the nails on that heel didn't get close enough to the lip, allowing for some gap from flexing. the heel on my first ave boots...

Man. I find that really surprising. Where do you live? If it were me, I would just wear them. That kind of heel separation, at the front of the shoe, generally doesn't turn into an issue. It was actually sold to SA's at one point as being a product of how the shoes are designed. AKA, its not...

Great job! How many applications/layers of dye/polish did you do before finishing them?? Reminds me I should post a pic of my formerly bourbon daltons sometime.

A 10E would be the rough equivalent of a 9.5 EE, if such a thing existed in the saukville. So You're best bet would be a 10 EEE if you need more room. Although, the 10 will also give you extra length, possibly putting the ball of your foot in a more appropriate relation to the widest area of the...

Im sure you could darken the rest of the boot or lighten the toes, depending on what you like better.

How did these size for you. You said your 11.5/12D in most things right?

I've wondered the same thing actually. I would bet the $$ are a lot, but percentage wise, maybe not so much

I'm not familiar with C&J's manufacturing at all so I wouldn't know either :) The AE SMU program didn't have a minimum, but you did pay an extra $125 to do it, which would help offset that cost *a little*. I remember those days very well, and those were sweet! Still kick myself for not getting...

Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread 2017- News, Pictures, Clothing, accessories, etc.

When the GMTO and SMU program was suspended by AE, part of what was inferred(can't remember if it was said outright or not), was that those programs actually ended up costing the company money. Not even from remakes or douchbaggery(not that anyone here would do that), although that didn't help...

Man i think it can go from jeans to a suit IMO. Perhaps a little bit unconventional for business wear, but if it's good enough for WWII officers, good enough for me :)

Honestly I don't know that AE would do it correctly. A competent cobbler would be able to handle it no problem. EDIT: Check out the shoe antiquing thread. Loads of info on dying leather and where I got started. http://www.styleforum.net/t/45530/shoe-antiquing Could definitely be covered...

Absolutely.... depending on your comfort level with leather dye. Actually less intimidating than it might sound, but a good amount of research is in order if you've never done anything like that before.

Oh I know! They do look great. I imagine that the tongue is the only thing that actually made them seconds. Everything else will disappear over time. And you got an awesome deal for those boots. Don't send them back. Unless you want to see me wearing them :D

These look awful. You should definitely send them back. Mind posting that tracking number to Freeport? In all seriousness, just wear them. In my experience, shell is best with as little additives as possible(polish, conditioner, wax, etc.)They don't look like they have dry spots that need...
