Throwing in a couple thoughts. Every time you switch the "type" of shoe...lace up, loafer, boot...you will want to get a new test shoe because fit is different for all. As @ThunderMarch said, the test shoe is solid value so makes it worth it ( personally I go for a color I would like to have...- europrep

Nano spray. And they have a thick Vibranm sole with storm welt so I can wear them most days in NE. Obviously they aren't my heavy duty snow boots but I wouldn't worry about running around town and wearing them in snow or rain. Only thing I fear with suede is oily types of liquids- europrep
