Random Fashion Thoughts (Part 3: Style farmer strikes back) - our general discussion thread

I have no expectations for the new Dune. I enjoyed Villeneuve's Enemy and Prisoners and think he is a great director. BR2049 felt like the production company bought a sci-fi romance script about a man and his personal AI assistant and then shoehorned BR IP on top of it. I think when such a large...

    The Look goes on...

An old Lexus actually. I think what I wear day to day is quite simple, the dramatic images are just for social media. I agree with you that a modern masculine look should be understated (in the context where the outfit is worn) and practical to a degree. Not too minimal and coordinated, not too...

    Recent purchases - Part II

Been waiting for those Aerios Mids to come out in a proper black. They released them in two shades of navy for some reason last year.

    Cool colour for a leather.

    ***SW&D Photography Thread***

Expired cheap film and a plastic lens on an automatic point and shoot have something to do with it, I'd guess. Nothing intentional, I think that was the 4th film photo I've ever taken.

You can minimalise those little Casio's too by removing the paint off the plastic crystal. They are fun little watches.

Best of 2019 and the Decade

The resin(?) coated garment-dyed stuff feels and looks great in person and has good weather resistance accordingly. I think it was an MBS jacket (red coat pictured at the front of the rack) that I liked the most when I visited their flagship store a month ago. Some of the design choices on half...

Best of 2019 and the Decade

For 2019 1. Best purchase > A Lanvin nylon and calf leather work bag. It is big enough to hold my tank of a PC and my camera equipment but is still compact enough to look decent with my menswear. It replaced my Porter Tanker 3 in 1, which was a bit too utilitarian (and also a bit bling with the...

Random Fashion Thoughts (Part 3: Style farmer strikes back) - our general discussion thread

I wouldn't compare ALLTERRAIN or Mammut's stuff to Veilance at all, except perhaps in aesthetic since most of it is a bit slim tapered and has some harsh geometry to the patterns. Veilance, bar a few more heavyduty pieces, typically provides lightweight, commuter tier stuff; with a focus on the...

Random Fashion Thoughts (Part 3: Style farmer strikes back) - our general discussion thread

Descente ALLTERRAIN has a few decent pieces out, and branding is slightly reduced compared to mainline. I've been impressed with Mammut's new urban stuff but they over brand their gear a bit too much for my tastes.

You can adjust focus peaking sensitivity, if you have not tried that yet. I never use auto any more because I find I miss focus less and get sharper results using manual plus focus peaking.

    Devoa Enthusiasts

I've had a few Devoa pieces over the years. Wasn't really my style but the quality was always nice, especially the materials. Picked these shearling and nylon gloves up the other day to replace a pair of shearling gloves my dog ate years ago. The fit is great but because of that they can be a...

Random Fashion Thoughts (Part 3: Style farmer strikes back) - our general discussion thread

The Haven stuff reminds me of old WTAPS, Sophnet and Neighborhood Technical, even down to the branding. 4DxML had a similar but imo more novel reference to that look a few years back.

FRIDAY CHALLENGE 15 Nov 2019 - 'Show Us the Cut of your Jib - Casual Style'

It's a very light cotton tank top with avery voluminous coat made from a light cotton poly with a water-resistant coating. The pants are ultra light nylon and the boots are quick dry polyester, very breathable. It showered 3 times that day as it is the rainy season and it cooled the temperatures...
