Feel exactly the same way. I still have a soft spot for IWC but like many folks feel they've lost their way in the design department. Every year I look forward to their releases but have been disappointed. On a positive note, the early 00's era IWC watches are super inexpensive and with the ETA movements can be refurbished by anyone.

I like the old square hands on the Mark series watches but the sword hands look great on the Big Pilot. Again, if I could combine certain elements of several models, it would be perfect.

With all that said, I'd like to take a look at the 43mm Big Pilot with the blue gradient dial. Sword hands look OK to me on that model but I'm worried that 43mm is too big. Someone posted one here but I couldn't find it. Paging @Neville Southall, was that you?

This watch is from the Rare Handcrafts line, which is a super small batch release (thank you to @Newcomer for schooling me on this recently). In particular, this model is from the Marquetry line, which means this watch is made from extremely intricate cuts of wood layered together to create an image.

Every year they have specific images on the dial, and they are never for everyone. They are for individuals who value a different type of aesthetics and craftsmanship in a watch that can't be achieved with a traditional style dial.

And hey bud, as always, you can either take or leave!

I had the 356 Flieger Chrono for a while. I bought it in 04-05 from a German dealer so it had the German day wheel. There was only one Sinn dealer in the States at the time. IIRC, it was right around $1000 on a strap.

Loved the warm domed acrylic crystal and the 100m WR was a nice touch even without screw down pushers. At the time I sold it (2010), I thought 38-39mm was too small but these days, that's near perfect. I can still remember the noticeably loud rotor on that Valjoux 7750.

WatchWhored to the max when I was living in the US because you can’t really do it here in Canada due to the insane import taxes.

I’ve been selling off pieces but not replacing since I moved back to Canada. Will get down to 4 - 6 pieces.
