Now I don't know what to do. In my opinion, those shirts are a little bit smaller than I'd wear them. I think I'll keep looking for stuff along the lines of the last two examples I posted.

Its all about how you feel comfortable. Just size up a bit and you should be fine. I don't think there is anything wrong with what you posted, and it will definitely go better with the loose jeans you plan on wearing them with (I think you mentioned loose jeans in either this thread or a different one).
