Yesterday was a really fun workout:

15 min warmup

Two rounds of
5 min at 7:45 pace
1 min rest
4 min at 7:15 pace
1 min rest
3 min at 7:00 pace
1 min rest
2 min at 6:30 pace
1 min rest
1 min at 6:10 pace
2 min rest

15 min cooldown

I love these kinds of workouts. They are really mentally engaging so the time flies by and they really discipline me into holding a certain pace.

Two days of skiing with my oldest to celebrate closing weekend at Eldora and Winter Park (the Mary Jane side is still open). That stinker is getting good enough that I was pretty thrashed by Sunday evening.

Today, I ride about 7 miles for school dropoff and pickup.

No one showed up for my B group, so I rode with the A group and got dropped in every climb. :)

I should note that our club has a practice of sending the fastest people back down to ride with the last person, so I had company for the awful section of Pinehurst from the hairpin. I started leading the B group this year, so I have now had the opportunity to ride the top of some climbs twice. :)

27 miles on the bike today (20 mile gravel ride and lunchtime plus school dropoff and pickup).

I felt great when I started my lunch ride today, but quickly realized I had a nice tailwind. The northbound part of my ride was way faster, and I hit 28+ on a slight uphill on gravel…

Last Sunday I ran the support 8 hour race at our local last one standing (backyarder) trail race. Went in pretty fatigued after running a 100km road ultra nine weeks ago, and with not a lot of recent mileage, but residual fitness and experience got me through it.
