sounds good, got one coming my way shortly...couple of questions is the colour as dark an olive in the flesh as the pics on nepethenes website? Also there's been quite a hike in it's rrp this s/s i presume fabric may be a little heavier so more a jacket than a shirt perhaps?
I had detailed sizing sent to me & the Penn does appear to be tailored in line with earlier EG items. Looking fwd to this one arriving.

Sorry for replying so late. The fabric is very much in-between, but I'd say wearing it feels more than a jacket than a shirt. That's highly subjective of course.
The fabric is "high count", meaning it's not letting a lot of air in and out, so if you live in a humid summery climate (like California or Japan), it would be definitely too warm. I expect to be wearing it here in Tokyo until around May and then from November onwards. It's just too damn humid in this city. It'd be very good for central and northern European summers, though :)
Yes, the colour is actually quite dark, a very nice shade of olive. Same as the Aero Jacket and the mainline Fatigue pants.

Only if you can live with very short sleeves. I am between M and L and went for L in this one for the sleeve length and body length. This jacket looks better layered, as you can see in the lookbook. Well, I guess some of the guys here will size down to match it with their stretchy pants, but I don't think that's a good look unless you have very short arms.

I second that! The sleeves will be short which will not look good unless you layer. But that would be a nightmare for your pits I fear.

Stay true to size and you'll be fine. The cool thing about the field jacket is there is an supplemental button snap 'clutch' running across the chest which you can snap on and not necessarily need to button the whole thing up allowing you to be a bit more creative with how you wear your gear. Hope this helps.

Their price on that nylon Bedford looks really good, cheaper than Inventory. Any US shops have this yet?

So Nepenthes blog has 2 pics of different Olive Pen shirt jackets. The buttons look different. Which one is the one people are getting?

Tim, great compilation. Comparing it to the new EG, I am not sure if the direction things are going in is so great. How are the new season "surf" themed printed T-shirts (with the big dots and stripes) not a rip-off of what Saturdays Surf NYC does? Not a big deal, but I expect more originality from EG.

BTW will this chambray FWK work shirt be available in the men's range as well? The darker chambray is a nice shade of blue. I guess nobody knows.

Few new things at Context. Navy broken twill Baker is really nice, fits slim though. I'm a large in most workshirts this season, though can take medium in the chambray as it's a little more generous...anyway, sized up to XL in the Baker and it's a slim fit through the chest still.

Missed checking out the new belts, will have to go back as I've been looking for a webbing type belt for summer.
