This looks a size too big. What size is it and what is your suit size? Very relaxed in a double breasted is a harder look to pull off than say in a balmacaan.

    The Overcoat Thread

Central Canada/Prairies here. There are some options. If it's not too cold a flat cap can work; this is dependent on the style of overcoat as your kind of mixing a working class hat with a possibly more refined coat. Late 20s is tough to pull off a wool fedora but hey, maybe an option. If it's...

It is frustrating to say the least. Even cheap fast fashion rarely has the button issues SM seems to have. I have gotten in the habit of reinforcing the buttons I know are poorly attached as soon as I receive the product. Regarding a SM employee seeing your message or even making an appearance...

It comes in cycles. I am sure the guys on Styleforum in the 1920's were making fun of the 1910 boys for their slim pants. As long as you avoid the extremes things tend to have some lasting style. I am sure you looked more timeless than he did. As long as we stay away from zoot suits and Thom...

Answering my own post and others: I did size down on the cotton cardigan (normally a medium, took a small). Happy with the fit of the small. It is a trim fit but that is what I wanted as I don't like the baggy cardigan look. Sleeves and body length are good with the small; time will tell if the...

Question regarding the cotton shawl cardigan for any who have it. I am thinking of sizing down as I know heavy cotton knits can stretch quite a bit through wear. I like a trimmer fit for cardigans. I am thinking either size down (my chest is 40", so get a small with a size chart listing of...

I could be way off here but I don't think many suit jackets/SCs are going to drape normally or have the quarters remain closed with your arms crossed in front like that. There is pull across the back with your arms crossed and, with your jacket done up, the quarters will flare. I think it looks...

In love with my new MTM shirt

Why not post this in the Larimars Affiliate thread? That shirt screams for collar stays.....or at least an iron.

On the one pair of chinos I have that the button hasn't come off yet, I re-enforced it preemptively. Last thing I need is that button falling off and coming out my pant leg at the urinal at work.

I've had to re-sew this button on three pairs so far. As soon as I got them I could tell they were going to come off. Easy enough to do but still one of those things...

I'm the same way. A half inch can make a big difference in break. I'd take them back. If you're like me that half inch will drive you crazy when you put your shoes on. I found the SM chinos didn't shrink much after the first wash (assuming you are hang drying). Depending on how much of a risk...

Curious, when you say inconsistent sizing did they run small or large? Or just different in multiple areas? I was looking at getting the medium wash but now I am wondering.

Look at the last few pages on here. Customer service issues account for a significant amount of the posts. My experiences have been pretty good but they certainly do not seem to be the best at this facet of the business.

Just recognizing the positive here; my most recent order shipped 3 business days from order date. Can't speak to returns but orders seem to be shipping faster lately.

2 weeks is/was pretty normal. If it hasn't shipped after 2 weeks I'd suggest contacting them.

It seems 2-3 weeks is "normal" processing time for SM.....and only SM. That said, my last order shipped in 4 business days (ordered on Dec 26). They recently sent an email saying they have resolved the shipping time and return time issues......

Thanks, guys. Sounds like 40R contemporary or 42R slim would be my starting points.
