Mr. Dan Slater, ebay id baduba69 was the high bidder on a pair of John Lobb's that I had on ebay. After getting the second invoice he emails me this nugget:
"I sent you an email days ago asking for your return policy before I sent payment. I want the shoes but due to the price I need to make sure they are returnable if they don't fit!"
My response
"Dan, you are asking me a question that should have been asked before you placed your bid or for the five days the auction ran, not after you won. The answer is that I will not accept a return due to sizing as the size, last and all relevant information was posted, including that there was no return policy. I will assume you are not paying so I will go through ebay for remediation."
I admit I was a little terse but I don't like taking returns from ebay buyers, especially on shoes as once they pay you through paypal they can josepidal the shoes, return them and then you are on the hook for the refund and if you complain about the condition of the shoes and refuse the refund, then they get paypal to screw you.
Anyway, his response was:
"**** YOU!!!! Look at my history, I don't typically make mistakes. Unfortunately I made a mistake and this time it happened to be with a real ASS HOLE like YOU. Do what you got to do. I will slay you if I get any negative feedback whatsoever. "
Obviously a classy guy. Of course I'm trembling from the threat of getting my first negative feedback on almost 400 transactions
My response:
"asshole is one word. You can go ahead now and leave whatever negative feedback you'd like. Thanks for the email as it will probably get my claim through ebay a lot faster. Have a good weekend!"
This is obviously only my problem but I thought I'd post it since I see that he has purchased from Andrew, Ben at ehaberdasher and others that visit the forum. Don't get on the wrong side of Mr. Slater, or he will slay you!!!!!!!
