I'm only adding this because I'm wearing Birkenstocks, a thong, and a cowboy hat so I have nothing substantive to add. Sorry so blurry, but really who cares? You can feel it emitting sexual energy even though you can't really see it

Sorry, but I'm being frank and would hope for a response. I'm sure others might have other opinions (lately I'm seeing many advertisements for bespoke or upper-end clothing with the models showing tattoos under their beautiful clothing), and I'd like to hear them... Also, do you mind sharing the story of this tattoo? Why'd you get it? What's the significance?

This comment is a little ridiculous. It would be like saying to someone oh I really like your style and your clothes fit perfectly but I dont like your face so it ruins it for me. Maybe Im biased because I have quite a large portion of my body covered in tattoos but still, it seems like a silly comment to make on his clothing.

It takes balls of steel to wear this bad boy....... Thanks, Spooz. I like this somewhat subdued look today....even the purple. Just hope Crusty doesn't catch me.

Mike

Not only did little Ralphie Lifshutz make that suit out of his bubbe's couch, but that couch was the pride of Moshulu Parkway, in da Bronnix. (We'll assume, with those lapels, that either you bought this masterpiece of the tailor's art a while ago, or you are not the first owner.) As for the metal content of your private parts, for wearing that plaid, I'd say you're beyond steel - somewhere in the titanium range . . . As for complimenting someone on wearing purple - you are so busted . . .

Nice to see you back, oh, Spoo-meister, but yes, the weather in the US must come as quite a shock after the tropical pleasures of Puerto Rico, but, why should we suffer alone?

This is a great skill to develop. I learned many years ago, and it comes in handy often.

Bleachboy - glasses look ok. Maybe not too arty/fashiony but they look proportionally ok for your face Pieceofsand - Sportscoat looks good NewYorkRanger - besides being envious of the weather, that final SC look is really nice. Great color combo although somehow it seems way overdressed for a resort. Still, I love the look. Gnatty - What kind of bike is that? The one with the spring seat. niidawg3 - nice combo, I think it got lost in the shuffle of other pics but I'm taking notes! someotherstyle - +1 to what shirt is that?

Soooooo true. I have never been so concerned about how my clothes fit until learning from the gents here. Thank you SF... Thank you!

Fair enough. I was mainly just opining that it distracts from the clothing. But I shall desist.

This sucks. The sound of the chipping ice you heard was me, grunting it out while you sat cozy in your catbird seat waiting for the doorman to open the door. You spoiled city dwellers.

Wow, this thread has taken a bit of a digression. Tattoos and motorcycles? I say bring it. Variety can be productive and stimulating....

My fits recently have been a bit bland but I'll courageously post even though they are quite lacking.

Example #1
WAYWT1of2-3-1.jpg
WAYWT2of2-3-1.jpg

I'm in a shawl collar sweater glut. Ultra baggy khakis but I'm ok with that as just hanging around the house.

Example #2

WAYWT2of2-2-1.jpg

WAYWT1of1-2.jpg

WAYWT1of2-2-1.jpg

Tough light this am. A bit better on the fit. Love the single monk cordovan Aldens but this fit is lacking something.

As to tats and bikes. No tattoo yet but....I am very adept at aggravating my bride with...

Ducati-1.jpg

2006 Ducati S2R 1000 (rode it from Key West to Ktown, epic)
38595_429388914832_527194832_4789837_5235315_n.jpg

HD Sportster 48 (slow and pokey but cool and americana, love that fat front tire)

And perhaps my fav. motopic
L1020011.jpg

BMW F800ST (shipping this baby West in May and crossing the US)

Gnat those black pipes on your 48 are awesome. That is gonna cost me some $ in powder coating. For those of you interested in bikes or just plain coolness...

Back to the thread. Warning nildawg I'm inspired by your fit today.

All in all not that dominant than the ones before--whether this is good or not for you I can't say. Not "cool" by itself because it's more on the softer side. Color is fine.

This is a SC. It has patch pockets. A (true) blazer has flap pockets, is dark navy and has six golden buttons in the double breasted form and three or four buttons (I forgot) on each sleeve or three buttons + four on each sleeve in the single breasted form. Other colors are possible: black, camel, bordeaux, dark green. Other buttons are possible: mother of pearl, vitreous enamel. Anything else is probably a SC.
I have very limited knowledge on fits. What should to be done? Shoulders okay? Size needs taken in? Chest okay? Waist too big?
Could it be that this SC is one or two sizes too small for you? Do you feel comfortable when moving around with your arms? Does the SC move with your arms?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
