Rugby's oxfords?

Does anyone know how small rugby oxfords fit? Especially relative to Polo custom fit and classic fit oxfords? Shirt length, slimness, sleeve length, collar size? A polo custom fit is a little baggy on me casually and too long. I have to roll up the sleeves as well. The classic is pretty much a garbage bag on me. I am 5'5 and 130 pounds. I suppose the small rugby oxford is still a little too big, but would it be fine for a little baggy, casual, preppy look without looking ridiculous? or would the alterations be the sort of cheap 10 dollar thing any laundromat could take care of?

The fit much tighter than a Polo custom fit in the same size. Given your stated dimensions, these might work well for you.

I can't vouch for the size small, but I do a few rugby oxfords and the sleeves and sides are slim fitting. I would give them a try if I were you.

If the Rugby oxfords didn't come pre-distressed, they would be hands-down the best value OTR shirts for me.

Unless you have unusually long arms for someone 5'5", the arms will be too long for you. I'm 5'7" and found the body to fit alright, but the sleeves were way too long (I'm a 32) and the neck too large (I'm a 14.5). Decent quality, though, for the price.

Rugby's OCBDs run a little short. Not ideal for tucking.

Thankfully I run a little short as well...

That being said, I guess I'll check it out at union square when I go back to New York for thanksgiving... I know you can taper the sleeves, but is it possible to straight up knock 2 inches or so off affordably? Like for under 15 bucks?

I wear a XL in Polo Custom Fit, ordered a XXL in Rugby and the thing is too big for my liking... I'm giving XL a shot now. If the whole experience is a failure, expect some dirt cheap Rugby stuff in the next couple of weeks in B&S.

I have a few rugby shirts. Body length, it's about the same as PRL custom fit. Sleeves on Rugby are longer though. Body is slimmer.

If you're 5'5", I would think a S Rugby shirt will have sleeves that are too long. I think they run equivalent to about a 33 -34"

Could sleeve length like that be easily altered though? If it's a cheap alteration and the body fits snuggly... I might give it a shot.

Shortening the sleeves are usually about 15-20 bucks.

You might as well get some extra slim fit shirts at BB. You can get neck and sleeve sizing, and the quality is probably better than Rugby. Since you're planning on getting the Rugby shirts tailored, the price will end up being about the same.

I might have to get brooks touched up too. I'm like a 31.5 by OTR sizing, and all my BB is farr too long for casual wear. That being said BB Children's large fits great but they have no must iron shirts. I might look into Polo children's XL, given their L is just a little too tight on me.

You might try a Books Brothers Black Fleece OCBD. The sizing runs a little small in the sleeves and overall length. Pricier than Rugby, but they had (still have?) a 50% off sale and I picked up a BB0 and BB1 size to try out ($75 each). Can't say how they fit in the body.

There are a couple of Brooks Extra Slims on ebay with 31" sleeve lengths, brand new, for $30 shipped.
