Can’t speak to the misspelling, but that label was discontinued around 2010 or so.
If it has the requisite handwork of a Zegna Couture suit, then it’s real.
Thank you very much, a super helpful overview! The couture labels go something like this:
This would be the the late 90s to early/mid 00s

Later this came. Which was early/mid 00s to late 00s.

early 00s to mid 10s

And the then things kind of split up. You got both of these around the same time, in the mid 10s

And the most recent, only a year or two old, looks like this (sorry for poor picture).

Did you ever find out what the designation NE meant? I just bought a Zegna suit from around 2000 with NE under PIC. Would love to know if I paid too much xDCan someone tell me what the likely length of this jacket is - after two attempts the seller is unable to tell me whether he measures it as 33" from the top of bottom of the collar. Surely he knows?
I thought Traveler denoted fabric types, not a cut, although 'Traveler' is printed in the style box of the label. Anything on how the shoulders run in Traveler would be helpful - structure and width - which is given as 19" which may be correct. Less than 19" is entering "need to try it on" territory
Looking at his other brand jacket measurements which I can compare with ones I own or comparing another sellers who I know measures accurately the same way as me I would guess it is 33" from the TOP of the collar. A length of 33" from the top of the collar is more what I would expect from a 52L EZ- that would translate to a length from the bottom of the collar of 31.75" which seems more in line.
This is important as 33" from BOC is too long - subtracting 1 1/4 gives 31 3/4 which is perfect. A SR cutter told me they only have ONE inch leeway in jacket length before it starts to throw the body picture off - hence long coats for people with long legs shortens them.
Any other info you could glean would be most welcome - made for the German market so likely for large bodies? Just below PC is "NE" - I thought this was Spain as I have seen confirmed as made in Spain with NE, but maybe designates a factory in Italy insted of IT - seen SP confirmed as Spain also - maybe depends on age. I have also seen NO I think for Spain.
I think from info on this thread this was made 2000-2012 (when label changed)
I have a very (very) vague memory that it turned out to be over the border in Switzerland.Did you ever find out what the designation NE meant? I just bought a Zegna suit from around 2000 with NE under PIC. Would love to know if I paid too much xD
I want a suit with a formal colour. I've been trying to find navy suits in 36r, but it's really hard.Looks real. But why a black suit?
