Hey All.
I just found a charcoal two-button pinstriped suit at my local thrift shop that fit me pretty well. I recognized the name, Yves Saint Laurent, and it was $8.95 so I bought it. I've read some things on this forum about Tom-Ford-era YSL, but I'd like to know a little about what I'll be wearing (I assume the suit was made before his time). Does anyone have any knowledge on pre-Tom-Ford YSL?
The wool felt fairly good, though definately not as soft as some others I've touched. The jacket is at the tailor right now getting the waist taken in and the sleeves shortened a bit, and I forgot to feel for a canvas or fused front (could someone remind me of the proper way of determining this?), so I'm not sure on that matter. The sleeves have 4 buttons and faux button-holes; the pants are creased and have a single pleat. The lining showed some wear, but the outside was near-perfect. So I'm guessing it is maybe 5-10 years old..?
