Working button holes - machine or hand made?

that's an $80-100 job here in NYC (Wilfreds/Bhambi). $124 is a lot but not insanely more. The most important thing is whether you like the job or not. If you go somewhere else and they do it for $60, but mess it up, that will obviously be more expensive.

I thought it was rather expensive as well, but like I said I don't know how he came to that number since everything he wrote down was in his native language.

When I had him take in some suits I bought a while back (5 I believe), I think it ended up costing me $700-$750 total. Of course he had to make numberous adjustments on all the jackets and pants. The work was pretty good from my "limited" experience, so that's the reason for my questions. I am planning on purchasing some additional suits and sportcoats and will need to have some alterations made, so I'm hoping I can determine "quality" of the work better.
