Hi, any retailers of this model? I been looking but found nothing
It's the new Fall '11 line so they're not availabe yet. Look for them in August.

@bobm are you under some obligation to make every other post about leather treatment?

Hey meso, Nah, it just seems that way! I just got a nice pair of leather hiking boots and wanted to get the scoop. It seems it hard to have both - waterproof and breaths well. Given the choice, I'll opt for the boots be waterproof. As an aside, last Fall I took a short, (but as it turned out) mildly strenuous hike and wore my waxed cotton jacket and that was a mistake. My back was soaked as was the inside of the jacket. Bob
That's a result of poor temperature management afield. Waxed cotton breathes way better than any of the synthetic membranes. That jacket should have been shed the moment you noticed you were heating up.
Thanks! Good to know about the waxed vs synthetics - as I have mostly Filson waxed cotton and wool coats. All things being equal, wouldn't a wool coat have been the better choice over waxed cotton for that hike? Bob
Anyone know what those engineer boots will retail for?
Are the black marks that appear on the toes of leather boots removable? I presume they are dirt stains that have set in. I picked up these 2nd hand 1000 miles in Rust from B&S and am in the process of cleaning them up a bit. They look great so far, but nothing I've tried has touched the black marks. I'm not too precious, I like the worn in look, but I thought i'd check.
/\\ They look fine. Lose the saddlesoap and get Lexol cleaner. After you clean them use Filson or Wolverine boot oil to condition them.
