I like WS because they continue to sell some of my favorite (and their most popular) classics, like Apilco dishes, Wustoff knives, etc. so I know I can always add to my set or replace something. The waffle mix they carry (malt flavored) is the very best in the whole world. Not only does it taste great but the entire house smells wonderful.

IMO, Chuck Williams should get a lot more credit for bringing an awareness of better cooking to the general public.

I just like at least trying to make food, lol. Sometimes it turns out and sometimes it doesn't, either way you learn what works and what fails and try it all over again next time. Eventually you come out with some good food.

I'm a big fan of Williams-Sonoma and Sur la Table. Comparable item per item, the prices aren't substantially more than Target or Macy's.

I thought WS was employee-owned. Is that true? They have a reputation for being a good company worth supporting.

Where's a good place, online, to score Mauviel copperware etc.? I have to upgrade all that stuff over the next few years.

I like MetroKitchen.com if I'm going to pay retail - otherwise, I hunt on eBay, though I did just buy a Staub dutch oven at Sur La Table. I hate freaking short notice buys.

I believe MK carries the full line of Mauviel.
