yea Its kinda hard to digest
I don't see why that's so hard to digest, really. Except for the iconic William double-soled double-monk in brown pebblegrain, there's really nothing terribly special about any of the stock Lobbs. (I really dislike all Jermyn II style shoes, including Ferragamo's Tramezza take on the style, though I realize that puts me in a minority around here.) Besides the name and the price, at least. The same could be said for the Northampton shoemakers in general, which I find to be massively overrated on the fora. They're all nice shoes, and I own a few pairs (C&J, EG, Grenson) but all very overpriced new and hardly invulnerable to criticism. I'd just rather have a closet full of Reiter, Weston, Materna, Tramezza, and so on.
