Excellent "berlusconian" look RDiaz. Wouldn't hurt if stripes on suit were wider though.

Yeah, a wider chalk stripe in woollen flannel would have been beautiful. Not much choice in RTW double breasted though

PS works well; the odd jacket is pretty bad, though. Also, if the shirt is blue i/r/l then all the other colours must be distorted, making it impossible to judge colour.

Over at A Suitable Wardrobe today, Will has a post repeating and clarifying his dislike of blue shirts with grey jackets as being directed more specifically toward charcoal. http://asuitablewardrobe.dynend.com/2013/02/i-contradict-myself-sometimes.html. I'm curious what others think about this. I recently received my first real charcoal suit, and I frequently find that the combinations that work well with my lighter greys don't look quite right with it? For example, here's yesterday:

Is Will right? Are blue shirts the culprit? Or is it blue shirts and ties together with charcoal? Or is there some other trick to successfully pairing items with charcoal suits?

Will is simply wrong in this case.

PS and tie are pretty true in terms of color. What is wrong with the odd jacket? It is pretty much a regular navy, which is not obvious from the picture.
