What is the general consensus on white pocket squares with colored edges, like these? (image taken from Shibumi Firenze)

Does the rule of not matching color with a plain tie color apply here? Can it be worn with odd jacket and no tie?

You do you.
I have a few of these and mostly match the edge colour with something else in the outfit - maybe a colour in the tie. I have a PS with dark red edges that matches a solid dark red grenadine here:

Here’s the same suit with a different square and no tie:

No major rule breaking here - If it causes you to to agonise then just sack the whole thing off and stick with plain white linen. Otherwise have fun!

I enjoy them as well and I was curious what people here think of them. I think it's a good way to add some color.

I like your outfits and how you used the pocket square, the second fit especially!

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
