This article is a couple years old but it was interesting to me because it discusses fashion /designer choices for the ultra-rich men who often have other people do their shopping for them:
http://observer.com/2015/07/whats-up-with-the-average-billionaires-wardrobe/
According to the author, Tom Ford, Berluti, and Brunello Cucinelli were the designers of choice for his "billionaire client." The author discusses luxurious add-ons and essentials - "There is nothing more unique than the bespoke suits on London’s Savile Row, where each detail—from the style and size of horn buttons on a suit’s jacket to the slight dip at the back of the trousers enabling them to touch the heel of the wearer’s shoes—is tortuously agonized over."
Anyway, the piece got me thinking about which designers are considered the world's best for specific styles/pieces among people with unlimited budgets. I suppose bespoke suits and even dress shirts /trousers are top shelf. But what about knitwear, jeans, shoes, tennis polos, etc? Is it 90% about the label among the top-shelf designers, or are some designers head and shoulders above others for certain type pieces?
I'm sure some people would find this post really lame so sorry about that.
